Businesses That Always Have Jobs Available

If you are tired of looking for a job, you are not alone. A few years ago, you could walk into just about any store and find an open position to fill. Now it seems more like job applications are lottery tickets than actual employment opportunities. Before you get incredibly discouraged about this process, you may want to figure out which businesses always need workers. Then you can at least fill out apps for those places and hopefully land a job. Here are a few businesses that seem to always have jobs available.

Pizza Places

Pizza places are always looking for delivery drivers and cooks to work in the back. If you have a Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Papa John’s, or something else like that in your area, you should have no trouble finding work within it. These types of jobs only pay minimum wage usually, but they are in demand at all times. That is because most people do not last long in them. They get tired of working long hours for minimal pay, and they find something else to do. You could use this as a temp job while you go in search of something better. At least it will put some money in your pocket.

24 Hour Stores

Stores that are open 24 hours a day are almost always looking for people to work the night shift. Most people only want to work the standard 9-5 schedule, so they will not take a shift that lasts form 3 AM to noon. If you can take over some of the odd hours for a business, you may get paid more money and have no trouble getting a job. Sure, your schedule will be a little off, but that is a sacrifice you may just have to make. Otherwise, you’ll just need to get used to not having a paycheck.

Carwashes

Most carwashes do not have attendants on duty, but there are a few that do. If you know of a car wash in your area that has an attendant working at it periodically, you may be able to find a job doing that. This is especially true if you are willing to work over the weekends because that is the time when most places have a hard time finding employees. You’d be amazed by the kinds of opportunities out there if you look around.

Ticket Booths

Ticket booths for parking lots and other facilities are usually in need of workers because of the monotony of the job. Most people do not want to sit in a box all day counting change, so there are always positions like this available. If you have a toll booth system where you live, you may be able to make money as a toll booth operator. It just depends on what your options are.

Take a look around at the businesses in your area, and think a little outside the box with your applications. If you open your mind at the right time, you may be able to snag a job when you least expect it. There is nothing wrong with working an odd job until you can find your dream position after college.
