AfterCollege/AACN $10,000 Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for students who are enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs in nursing. The award value of $10,000 is broken into four payments of $2,500, distributed each quarter a student is enrolled in a nursing program. To apply for this award, you must be 18 years or older and enrolled in an AACN member school. You may see if your school is part of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing through the member program directory.

Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association General Scholarships
The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association General Scholarships are awarded to students in state-approved schools of nursing. These students may be pursuing a nursing degree of any level, including an associate’s degree, diploma, master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and more. Graduating high school seniors are not eligible for funding at this time. This organization awards over $345,000 in scholarships a year to nursing students throughout the country. Award recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, participation in nursing student organizations, financial need, and involvement in community health care activities. All applications require a $10 processing fee.

ANNA Career Mobility Scholarships
ANNA Career Mobility Scholarships are provided by the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association. There are several different awards to choose from in this set, but they all maintain the same basic criteria. Applicants must be current members of the ANNA and must have been active in the organization for a minimum of 2 years before the application deadline. Applicants must be involved in nephrology related health care services, and they must be accepted or enrolled in a BSN program or graduate level nursing program.

Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship
The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship is designed for “nontraditional” nursing undergraduate students. These are students who did not pursue a college degree right after high school or who had their college careers interrupted with the need to join the workforce. The scholarship is sponsored by B4 Brands, and it offers $1,000 to five applicants every year. Students must be working toward an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing in order to qualify. The award money is paid directly to the school, and it is non-renewable.

Genesis Health Services BSN Nursing Scholarship
The BSN Nursing Scholarship provided by Genesis Health Services is offered as a forgivable loan, which means you won’t have to pay it back as long as you agree to work for Genesis Health Services for two years after graduation. This may not sound like a good tradeoff, but it pretty much guarantees you a job after you get out of school. To qualify for this program, you must be pursuing a BSN at an accredited college or university in Iowa or Illinois. You must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 or a minimum college cumulative GPA of 2.5. You must remain in school full time in order to maintain the scholarship.

NADONA Stephanie Carroll Scholarship
The Stephanie Carroll Scholarship is offered by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) in Long-Term Care. It is awarded to nursing students who are enrolled in programs related to long term care or geriatrics. The scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must commit themselves to a career in long term care or geriatrics for at least two years after they graduate. The scholarship amount varies based on each student’s overall cost of attendance for nursing school. You will have to send in a detailed list of your expenses with your scholarship application.

Griswold Home Care Scholarship
The Griswold Home Care Scholarship is offered through a “mission-driven home care services company” near Philadelphia. The faculty was founded by Jean Griswold in 1982 after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She felt the need to provide affordable healthcare for her community, and now a scholarship lives on in her name. The scholarship is provided for undergraduate nursing students who are enrolled in associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree programs. The scholarship is awarded bi-annually, giving you plenty of opportunities to apply while you are in college.

NBNA Scholarships
The National Black Nurses Association offers a number of great scholarships for African American nursing students. Examples include the Margaret Pemberton Scholarship, the Maria Dudley Advanced Scholarship, the Rita E. Miller Scholarship, and the Martha R. Dudley Scholarship. To apply for any of these scholarships, you must have at least one full year of schooling remaining in your degree. You must go to an accredited nursing college, and you must be a member in good standing with one of the NBNA chapters in your area. Award amounts vary by scholarship, so you will need to contact the NBNA to find out which option is best for you.

SEIU Nora Piore Scholarship
The Nora Piore Scholarship is provided by the Services Employees International Union. The award is made in honor of Nora Piore, a woman who worked in public healthcare for more than 60 years. The funding for the scholarship is provided by Nora’s family. It is renewable for up to two years, which should give you a lot of money to fund your degree. You must be a member of the SEIU or related to a member of the SEIU in order to apply.

Nurses of Tomorrow Scholarship
The Nurses of Tomorrow Scholarship from Medical Solutions is offered in honor of Nurses Week every year. It is made for nursing students who demonstrate financial need while they are in school. In order to apply for this scholarship, you will need to write a 250-word essay that answers the question, “What will you do as a nurse to ensure you always provide exceptional patient care?” You must have a 2.75 GPA or higher, and you must be enrolled in school full time.

Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship
The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship from Cascade Healthcare Solutions is awarded to one aspiring nurse each year. To apply for the award, you must submit a 200-300 word essay about the differences nurses make in the world. You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and you must be a legal resident of the United States. You must also be able to prove that you have been accepted into an undergraduate nursing degree program or that you are currently enrolled in one. Employees and family members of Cascade Healthcare Solutions are not eligible to apply.

Outlaw Student Nursing Scholarship
Unlike most of the nursing scholarships listed here, the Outlaw Student Nursing Scholarship is issued directly to you, not the school. This means that you can apply the money toward living expenses and other bills instead of just books and tuition. There are four chances to win this scholarship throughout the year, giving you plenty of opportunities to earn money for your education. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted into a nursing degree program in order to win this award.

Jacksonville University RN-to-BSN Honor Scholarship
The Jacksonville University RN-to-BSN Honor Scholarship is available for nursing students who plan to complete their RN-to-BSN program online at JU. The scholarship is reserved for students who meet several high standard requirements, including: a minimum GPA of 3.4, no previous enrollment in an online course at JU, and a maintained GPA of 3.4 or higher during the award term. You may be a resident of any state in order to apply, as long as you meet the general requirements for acceptance into JU.

Nursing Home Abuse Prevention Scholarship
The Nursing Home Abuse Prevention Scholarship is funded by the Rooth Law Firm of Evanston, Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to first and second year nursing school students who have displayed an honorable commitment to their future careers in nursing. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to qualify for the scholarship, as well as proof of enrollment or acceptance into an accredited nursing school in the U.S. The money for this scholarship is sent directly to the student’s school, and the recipient must provide receipts showing where the money is going once he or she receives funding.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship
The Morris K. Udall Scholarship is sponsored by the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation. It offers financial assistance to 50 students each year who are committed to careers related to Native American health care, tribal public policy, and the environment. Applicants must be Native American or Alaska Native in order to qualify, and they must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. since 1996, the organization has given our more than $7 million in scholarships to over 1,400 lucky recipients throughout the country.

FNSNA Scholarships
The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association gives out over $330,000 in scholarships every year. Scholarships are issued to students based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in the healthcare industry. If you are an active part of a local nursing organization or you participate in community activities related to healthcare, you might qualify for one of these scholarships. Keep in mind that there is a $10 application fee for this scholarship program, but there are ample opportunities for you to receive funding because of that.
