College Jobs That Pay BIG Money
Most college students at least go through one semester where they think they can live off financial aid. That might work for a month or two, but then the bills are going to outweigh the “savings” (aka, the dust covered piggy bank). If you are trying to make money in college, you might be pleased to know that there are a ton of jobs out there that pay more than minimum wage. Here are some of the highest paying jobs for college students.
Bartending
If you are over the age of 21, you could make a lot of money bartending. Some bartenders in college make as much as $300-$400 a night, depending on where they work. At the very least, you should be able to bring in $100 on a good night, and that’s all going to be in cash. You can immediately apply it to whatever you need. You have to know your alcohol in this business, and you have to be charming enough to woo a crowd. If you can do that though, the money will just start rolling in.
Tutoring
If you’re smart, you may be able to make some money tutoring. A basic tutoring job may only pay $10 an hour, but you could make a lot more than that hosting study sessions. A good friend of mine is a manager for Pizza Hut, and he is currently pursuing an engineering degree in college. He hosts study sessions for $10-$20 a head around test time, and he’s able to come out with an easy $200-$400. That all comes from maybe two hours of work, tops. Find a group of people to learn under you, and you’ll make tons of money in no time.
Freelance Writing
Writing online is incredibly flexible, and it does allow you to make some decent money. Most freelance writers start off making about $15 an hour, but many go on to make three to four times that amount. If you can learn quickly and produce great content, you can make a lot of money right at home. You don’t have to be a genius to do this either. You just need a grasp on the English language.
Serving
Serving jobs don’t always pay as well as bartending jobs, but they are still great options for people who don’t want to bartend. The average server at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Cheddar’s, or someplace else along those lines will make at least $100 a shift. That’s because the tabs for the tickets are so high in those establishments. If you have a way with people and some decent memory skills, you could do well in this job.
Think about all of these jobs carefully, and you should be able to use one of them to help you get through school. The more you earn while you are in college, the less you will have to worry about your finances when you graduate.
